Save The Enumclaw Youth Clubhouse
Help Save The Enumclaw Youth Clubhouse!

Welcome!

The Enumclaw Youth Clubhouse, located at 1225 Battersby, has been serving Enumclaw's youth since 1953. The 2,000-square-foot Clubhouse serves as a meeting place for more than 200 kids in more than 20 youth groups, including Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Campfire, and 4-H. These groups have used the Clubhouse for special events, meetings, sleepovers, and as storage space for their supplies and equipment.
In 2007, members of the Board of Trustees worked with King County officials and Johnson Exteriors, to replace the old roof. Landscaping was performed by volunteer members of its youth user groups. New carpeting was laid in two rooms, and one room was completely repainted and decorated.
But the Enumclaw Youth Clubhouse is still in need of some tender loving care. Built in 1892, the Clubhouse is badly in need of additional renovations and repairs. Chief among them are an improved system for proof against flooding of the basement, and a new electrical system. The building also suffers from dry rot around several of the windows. There are a variety of other major projects and improvements that also need to be made.

The Enumclaw Youth Clubhouse is non-profit, and is managed entirely by a 100% volunteer member board of trustees who have worked tirelessly to keep its doors open during an unprecedented period of double-jeopardy, as donations have declined while operating, insurance, heating, water and sewage, and ordinary maintenance and repair costs have continued to rise dramatically over the same period. The Clubhouse is calling upon its users and the local community to help provide the funding necessary to keep its doors open to children. You can make a difference!
Donations are welcome and needed urgently. Learn more about how you can help save the Enumclaw Youth Clubhouse for the children of our community. To make a donation or for more information or to schedule a meeting or an event at the Clubhouse, contact
Janet Johnson, President of the Enumclaw Youth Clubhouse Board.

2009-2010 Academic Year

Every year, nearly all User Groups change their schedule at least once, and most frequently it happens in the Fall to accommodate the numerous activities and obligations of participants, siblings, and family commitments. The Clubhouse has long established its policy requiring all User Groups to re-submit their schedules and specific room requests by the start of each new school year; and, it is time to get your User Group request in for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Room assignments are made first-come, first-served. The Board of Trustees and Clubhouse managers do not recognize so-called “Squatters Rights”: In other words, even if your User Group is not changing its schedule (days, time, frequency, etc.) you must nonetheless re-submit your request every year. It is never acceptable for any group to simply occupy a room in the Clubhouse and pre-empt a properly scheduled group from conducting its activity in the assigned space.

You may make your request by simply sending an email that includes the name of your User Group, designated representative and contact information, your group schedule (including days, start time, and finish time), and requested room assignment. Note: Any time your User Group representative changes, a new User Agreement must be completed and signed by the new representative, transferring authority and responsibility for the Clubhouse access key issued to your group.
